Website Updates
One of the great things about being a tech person as well as a singer, I can update and run my own website without having to have a generic cookie-cutter singer site. I have finished adding in a contact form that will allow you to e-mail me directly from the website. I have also added some nifty AJAX and DHTML to the photos section for a little more style. I redid the javascript for the site, so that it is more streamlined and less cluttered code-wise. Also, there were a few minor glitches with my template, so some of the images were not loading properly and giving the site a really spotty design.
I have started taking on some voice students also. I posted an ad on Craigslist for students and a few people have found their way to this site, so we will see if that pans out. This past weekends Gala event for the Commonwealth Opera went off without a hitch. Unless a hurricane style New England storm is considered a hitch. I heard a lot of good things from the audience however. They loved the Pearl Fishers duet and the Lakme. The overture from Carmen was a big hit, even with an orchestra missing percussion, horns and a bass. Conductor C. Thomas Brooks, Music Department Chair of Gordon College did a splendid job of filling in by singing the horn part and having toy cymbals played by a doner. My role of Lippo in the Ice Cream Sextet from Weill's Street Scene went well. The hall was fabulous so I took the time to really push into the notes to deliver a bit more of a dramatic sound. The audience loved it and my fellow cast members sang their hearts out. Kudos to them, Jennica Serra, Sarah Tyman, Geoffrey Jones, Dustin Juliano and David Allen. Great job all around. - Gregory -
