Boston Singers
In my last post, I mentioned that I recently auditioned for the Boston Singers Resource general audition. I got my auditor notes in the mail yesterday, receiving generally high marks across the board. I caught some flak for being dressed casual however. Lesson learned: always wear a tie to auditions. My good friend Daniel Draper got the same comment about the casual attire. The rest of the comments were mainly about my voice, presence and resume.
While I take all comments with a grain of salt, it is very reassuring to hear how people other then my voice teacher view my singing and it is very helpful. The greatest accolade that I received from them was an invitation back to the select auditions in November. This is an exciting opportunity for me, as it will allow me to sing for a number of opera companies from the area at once, and maybe it will line me up for a role in the following spring/summer. In closing, my favorite quote from one of the auditors: "Great potential for a strong Puccini Tenor!" - Gregory -
